Privacy Policy

We're pretty straightforward about how we handle your info. No corporate jargon, just real talk about privacy.

Last updated: October 21, 2025

Look, we get it - nobody actually enjoys reading these things. But since we're asking for your trust with our architectural services, it's only fair you know what happens with your personal details. We've tried to keep this as human as possible.

When you reach out about a project or just browse around, here's what we might collect:

  • Contact stuff - Your name, email, phone number. Pretty basic. We need this to actually get back to you about your project.
  • Project details - If you're inquiring about a commercial build or residential redesign, we'll keep notes on what you're looking for. Helps us remember the conversation when we follow up.
  • Location info - Where your project is. Kinda important for architects, you know?
  • Technical data - IP address, browser type, that sort of thing. Mostly so our website doesn't break and we can see if something's not working right.

We don't go digging for extra stuff. If we need something specific for your project, we'll just ask.

We're not in the business of selling data - we're architects. Here's what we do with your info:

  • Responding to you - When you contact us, we use your details to get back to you. Shocking, right?
  • Project work - If we're working together, we'll use your information throughout the design process, permits, consultations, all that good stuff.
  • Occasional updates - Maybe a newsletter here and there about sustainable design trends or completed projects. You can opt out anytime - we won't get offended.
  • Legal obligations - Sometimes Canadian building codes and business regulations require us to keep certain records. It's boring but necessary.
  • Improving our services - Looking at how people use our site helps us make it better. No rocket science there.

That's pretty much it. We're running an architecture studio, not a data mining operation.

We keep your information pretty close to the chest. Here's who might see it:

  • Our team - The folks at Pyrocrest Born who are working on your project. They need access to do their job.
  • Service providers - Email hosting, website hosting, cloud storage. These companies help us run our business but they're contractually bound to keep things confidential.
  • Consultants & contractors - If your project involves engineers, landscape designers, or specialty contractors, we might share relevant details with them. Only what's needed though.
  • Legal requirements - If the law says we gotta hand something over, we will. But we'll fight it if it seems sketchy.

We don't sell your data. Period. No shady third-party marketing lists or anything like that. We're architects, not ad brokers.

Yeah, our website uses cookies. Not the chocolate chip kind unfortunately.

Essential cookies - These keep the site functional. Can't really turn these off without breaking everything.

Analytics - We use basic analytics to see which pages people visit, how long they stay, that kind of thing. Helps us figure out if our portfolio section needs work or if nobody cares about our sustainable design page (we hope they do).

Your browser probably has settings to block cookies if you want. Just know that some parts of the site might act weird.

We don't hoard data forever. Here's the general approach:

  • Active projects - We keep everything while we're working together. Makes sense, right?
  • Completed projects - We hang onto project files for around 7 years. That's pretty standard in the architecture world for legal and warranty reasons.
  • Inquiries that didn't pan out - If you reached out but we never ended up working together, we'll typically keep your contact info for about 2 years in case you circle back.
  • Marketing lists - If you asked to be removed from our newsletter, you're gone immediately. No 30-day processing nonsense.

Need something deleted sooner? Just ask. We're reasonable people.

Under Canadian privacy laws (PIPEDA and all that), you've got some rights. Here's what you can do:

  • Access your data - Wanna know what we have on file? Just email us at info@pyrocrestborn.info and we'll send you a copy.
  • Correct mistakes - If we've got your info wrong, let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Request deletion - Want us to delete your data? We can do that, unless we're legally required to keep it.
  • Opt out of marketing - There's an unsubscribe link in every email we send. One click and you're done.
  • Withdraw consent - If you previously agreed to something, you can change your mind. We'll respect that.

To exercise any of these rights, shoot us an email or give us a call. We'll get back to you within a couple weeks max.

We take reasonable precautions to keep your data safe. Our systems include:

  • Encrypted connections (that's what the little padlock in your browser means)
  • Secure cloud storage with reputable providers
  • Limited access - only team members who need your info can see it
  • Regular backups so nothing gets lost
  • Password protection on all our systems

That said, no system is 100% hack-proof. We do our best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. If something ever did happen, we'd let you know right away.

Sometimes we'll need to update this policy - maybe laws change, or we add new services, whatever. When we do make changes, we'll update the date at the top and probably send an email if it's anything major.

We won't do anything sneaky like suddenly start selling your data without telling you. That's just not how we operate.

If something in here doesn't make sense, or you've got privacy concerns, just reach out. We're real people and we're happy to chat about it.
